It was written that ndiswrapper-1.58 should be compatible with Linux kernels 3.2 to 3.8. However, the version provided by the packages from the Debian testing branch seems to be incompatible with Knoppix kernel 3.4.4.

On http://sourceforge.net/projects/ndis.../files/stable/ you can download the source of the latest version 1.59.

After you have downloaded ndiswrapper-1.59.tar.gz you should open an LXTerminal and change to the directory containing this file. Before you try to compile and to install the new ndiswrapper the old packages have to be removed from the system if they are installed.

Now it is time to extract the new source

tar xzf ndiswrapper-1.59.tar.gz
cd ndiswrapper-1.59
make
sudo make install
There is a file called INSTALL describing the installation and usage of ndiswrapper.
