earthlink dsl help

i have earthlink dsl and speed streem 5360 and a linksys ethernet card. i can not get knoppix to connect to the internet. i run the adsl ppoe config and it says it works my modems flashs a little. i run network card config im not sure of the setting except for nameserver. ive edited my resolv.conf. and still nothing. i see lites flash when i run pon command from root shell. but i can not connect to websites. anyone else out there use earthlink dsl and have any info that could be of assistance. thank you very much.

The first thing to do would be to find your settings that you use for windows. If you are using Win98 then open run command and type winipcfg or if XP then ipconfig to get the settings then try those with netcardconfig. Also you do not say whether you connect via DHCP or static connection.

i got the info but it still doesnt want to work

i got all thes #s but i dont know what to do with them

Could you post the output off ifconfig eth0 both before and after you run netcardconfig.
