gedit knoppix 7.6 issue

I did a reload of Synaptic . Synaptic said an upgrade of gedit to 3.18 was available.

This not working here, yet anyway.
alioth repo not responsive.
Klaus K possibly doing a number of upgrades behind the scenes.
