Display Issue on HD install

Id like to do a HD install of knoppix on my laptop and everything goes fine till i run knx-hdinstall, the script only runs in 1600x1200 and my laptop display can only display 800x600 max. So when it comes up in 1600x1200 i can only see the top left corner of the whole thing. So how do i make it run in 800x600? thanks.

boot: ' fb800x600 2 ' + any other cheats you normally use. (Boots into runlevel 2 -- non-X -- at 800x600 framebuffer resolution.) You may also need to specify ' screen=800x600 ' but I doubt it will be necessary.
