Kernel Rebuilds

Once upon a time there was some documentation on rebuilding the knoppix kernel somewhere....how to get a .config or tarball and build an place it on the iso appropriately. Is that howto or doc still hidden somewhere? can anyone point it out?

If it isnt...shouldnt that be part of the remastering howto, or atleast linked from the docs page here on the (excellent) knoppix.net?

If it really isnt anywhere...and someone can walk me through it...in exchange i'll write up a howto. I'm hoping to get it done inside of a few days, so the sooner the better for me
