My windows partition is /dev/hdb=hd1. What surprised me a bit was, after the following grub command,
map (hd0) (hd1)
map (hd1) (hd0)
it is still hd1, instead of hd0.
Thanks again for your guidance. Hope the menu.lst I posted may be helpful to someone else.
