I have used Partition Magic 6 and 8 to create ext2 and swap partitions...had no problems....I let Mandrake create partitions once and it tried to write past the available cylinders...had to completely re-install both OS's...now I always leave 1% unallocated space at the end of my drive... haven't had a problem since...
