I have the same problem, and neither of those worked.

My setup...
AMD Althon 2200+
GeForce 3
2 Hard Drives, NTFS
Creative 5x PC-DVD drive
Generic CD-Writer
Albatron KX-400-8x Motherboard w/onboard audio
256 MB ram

I tested the cd on other computers and it works fine.
very frustrating.
