I installed knoppix on a pentium 1 with 128 meg it runs fine from the CD but when i try to install it on the hard drive it installs 75% an then it goes into an endless loop of errors why?

This usually means you have an error on your CD. A bad cd will sometimes boot fine but when you try to copy it to the hard drive the error will appear. At the boot prompt try knoppix testcd.

If this doesn't help it would help to know it you are using the old knx-hdinstall or the new knoppix-installer.

How large is your hard drive?

MMMMMMMMM I don't think it is a bad CD cince I installd it on pentium 3 and it is running like a dream. but i'll try the new command you suggested thanks
