i am running knoppix, and it works well on my machine. then i installed it on the hdd, and it also works greatly.

but one problem arise: no matter how hard i tried, i couldnt compile the new kernel on my machine now. i got either kernel 2.4.21 (newer than my current available knoppix kernel - 2.4.20) or 2.6.0-test. the new kernel always crashs when booting

so i guess knoppix requires a special way to compile the new kernel ??? any patch i must do before compiling ?
