I have onboard sound and a pci card. I prefer to use the pci soundcard so i disabled onboard sound and knoppix detected my pci card no problems, but when it goes to save the sound config it says "an error occured while writing the config file", and my sound still doesn't work

is this some sort of permissions error? help! whats going on?!

ps. i'm new to knoppix, had it about 2 days loving it so far except no sound and no network. working on the network problem still...
