I have a dell inspiron 3000 that used to be running suse, the bios doesn't detect the hard disk and refuses to allow me to add it manually. however, knoppix detects the hard disk and uses the existing linux swap partion when I boot to CD. how can knoppix see the disk when the bios cant?
