In fact, this is easier than it appears!

I used Debian lxde Live Stretch 9.11.0 DVD, made an exact copy of it on the USB pendrive. Used that drive to install Debian Stretch 9.11.0 on the HDD.

Following Debian, Knoppix ISO could be extracted and copied to a dedicated partition and Grub be used to boot Knoppix.
