Yep me too .. (wo got about 300 of them)

    Probable cause :
Low cost motherboard with crappy bios and low cost networkchip (Broadcom).(which HP claims is quality =>lmao)
Even when loading the supported DOS broadcomdrivers they are crappy.
Reason is the f*** acpi irq sharing.
In the bios of your HP you notice somewhere a place where you can set the wished irq of a device.
You will see about 6 devices and for each 3 irq's to pick. (5,10,11).=> told you crappy bios. At least they didn't put no more the harddisk right above the processor ,like the model before .
Yep , I suppose we will have to wait till crappy bios becomes less crappy.. .

    greetzzzz,

When using the driver (linux-7.0.0.zip) from broadcom (http://www.broadcom.com/support/downloaddrivers.php)
it works now. (on the livecd version 3.3 from 24/09/2003)
unpack the source zipfile bcm5700-7.0.0.tar.gz to you /home/knoppix

    type:
    tar xvzf bcm5700-7.0.0.tar.gz

    type:
    cd /home/knoppix/bcm5700-7.0.0/src

    type:
    make

    type:
    insmod bcm5700.o

    launch netconfig from menu

    greetzzzzzz from Belgium,

PS request on german site (www.knoppix.de) have been made to insert the broadcom driver on the cd.
