If DHCP server is available

Hi

If there is a DHCP server on the LAN, is Knoppix smart enough to find it and use it. So if I took the bootable CDROM to a machine with a network card and cable connected to a hub, will it grab a DHCP address and be able to get on the 'internet'

Just boot of CD.

but that won't work if you're using a wifi card... what you have to do is

1. run NetworkcardConfig or whatever it's called - say 'no' to DHCP, and accept all defaults
2. at the end of the above wizard, say yes to wirelesscardconfig and enter the correct parameters
3. re-run netcardconfig and this time asay yes to DHCP
