I snagged it today, and I have to say the desktop looks quite nice. If only the desktop icons didn't use a colored background by default, I'd give it a 10.
Nice, release.

There's always another way to do it in Linux.![]()
It always takes 1-2 patches to get the bugs out! That's too much bandwidth [and coasters] for 1 week lately!
Not being mean, just honest.
Is there an uptodate packages.list somewhere? Specifically I'd like to know what versions of OpenSSH and Gaim are now on the CD.
Also does anyone know if the autoconfiguring and automounting of firewire drives has been *fixed*? With 3.2 from about six months, firewire drive partitions appeared on the desktop. With last month's 3.3, I have to start modprobing sbp2, re-scanning the scsi bus, mkdiring /mnt/sdax and then mounting everything. A fair amount of hassle :(
I'm currently running a 3.2 which i apt-get upgraded like hell (I upgraded with many packages of debian "sin" version)...![]()
My version is very stable at this time... but i'm allways looking for new features... so I wonder if I should upgrade...
Is there a command to upgrade trough the cd or the iso, or do I have to format my / partition (i set /home in another one)
If it's possible to upgrade, I compiled a lot of apps, services, installed 3D games, ... is it safe to upgrade or do I risk compatibility problems?
last question... if anybody has a hint about mounting .bin .cue files... I'm really stuck with that one...
thanx

Thats why they invented CDRW, with sizes ranging from the 700 meg versions as well as the older 650 meg versions, and for the .99 cents they cost they really are a sound investment![]()
... but don't waste bandwidth, it's also a limited resource.
Ciao Martin
...and the laptop that I use Knoppix for will not read RW :(
I downloaded KNOPPIX_V3.3-2003-11-03-EN.iso from ftp://ftp.rdg.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp...3-11-03-EN.iso and when i booted up the cd after burning it, it still said version 3.2 on the install screen and on the wallpaper
