Kmenu links don't work?

How comes some links don't work after hd install?
eg "network card configuration" or "root shell"
when i click i just get an egg-timer (is that the proper name?) for a while, then nothing

any help will move me further from windoze and closer to linux

Many things get changed when you install to the HD this thread list the changes made it is a little old but for the most part it still applies. If you need to configure the network card use netcardconfig in a root shell to get a root shell open a regular shell (click on clam shell icon on taskbar) then su enter then type in your root password enter again and it is now a root shell.

knoppix-installer instead of knx-hdinstall
