want to create a knoppix webserver....

i want to create a knoppix disc that will have apache, mysql on it
but i want apache to read the conf and data files from a fat32 mounted drive

i also want mysql to read databases from teh same drive

how would i go about doing this from scratch....

i'm going to do something similar. still did not do but in a few days

anyway i think u need to reconfigure apache and mysql to a different (/mnt/hd??) location. read for each one "./configure --help"

You don't need to remaster. A knoppix.sh script should do the trick. Just replace the /etc/httpd.conf file at boot time, and do the same for mysql configuration. Also see http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=762
