establishing compressed drives for Knoppix HD installation

Hello,

I was wondering,

Does Knoppix/Linux support compressing drives on which they are installed (or while being installed).

I could imagine that with a 2G HD i could then install the full version of Knoppix using the HD-Install command variant.

It is called poorman's HD install under Docs. You will not be able to do 'apt-get' etc. though as it is just a variant of liveCD, without the CD.
