Wifi PCMCIA card (Lucent Tech. Gold) beeps once (high freq tone) and then about 10 seconds later beeps again (low freq. tone) which tells me that 3.3 see it but does not recognize it. The built-in (Intel Corp. 82801BD PRO/100 VE) cannot get a IP address using dhcp.

USB Drive (Cruzer mini 256MB) cannot be mounted - "not a block device" when used through a Adaptec USB2connect (AUA-1420A). If plugged in the back of the laptop (1.1 USB), will hang Knoppix 3.3 in a few seconds.

Any ideas?
