Sorry monkymind, it didn't work I checked the man page and your link and there's no -a switch in rdesktop.

What to do now?

Ahh Then you are running version 1.2.0 of rdesktop and need version 1.3.0. It is on Knoppix V3.3-2003-11-19 so you'll need to get yourself a copy or remaster your CD.

If you are on dialup or can't get the latest knoppix try a small live CD like Pxes.
Other small bootable biz-card CDs like Feather, Pilot etc may have rdesktop 1.3.0 too.
