When I attempt to run Knoppix 3.1 (2002 version) this happens:

detects scsi -> loads ncr53c8xx.o
finds ram (15mb from a total of 89mb)
establishes directories and symlinks on ramdisk without problem
detects the cpu
freezes at the end of the autoconfig routine

I have tried the following at boot up:
knoppix xmodule=fbdev
knoppix no scsi

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
