Nomce Kernal panic

I recently did a install on my computer of Knoppix 3.3 It ran fine from the CD but when I did the install and then reboot i got this . .

nomce:nomce: No Such file
Kernal Panic:attempted to kill init.



Any ideas how to fix or get this working?

Mmh.. maybe check your /etc/lilo.conf file, and in particular the "append=..." line. Maybe you've got something like "init=nomce" in there? If that is the case, fix it, rerun lilo and you should be OK. A reasonable line would be

append="hda=scsi hdb=scsi hdc=scsi hdd=scsi apm=power-off nomce"
