Have you tried sound with headphones, I remember reading about some trouble with digital speakers if you'd happen to have such.
According to:
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc...dor-RME#matrix
all but "Hammerfall DSP MADI" are supported by alsa.
PS: the pcifile was created in the directory where you ran the command.
