adding config files to /home/knoppix

how do i add the config files for konsole the kicker and other kde apps to /home/knoppix

i tryed to put the config files in /etc/skel/,kde/share/config but when i boot those files are not there ???

Do you run KNOPPIX from CD?
Do you run KDE desktop?

I like to put scripts in
/home/knoppix/.kde/Autostart/

An executable script here will be run
when KDE starts. You may need to
us su or sudo if you
kneed to run it as root.

yes i run it from cd and use kde but I wan't to add my kde config files to /home/knoppix
but /home/knoppix is not there until i boot up

It can be done. Have a good read of /etc/X11/xsession.d/45xsession. Particually lines concerning /etc/skel/ and /usr/share/knoppix/. Put your config files in the right spot. Modify 45xsession so that these are copied with the rest of the stuff and bobs your uncle.

A simple hack is to put your files in /home/knoppix/... and when you remaster, put a script (rc.local?) to copy the files from /KNOPPIX/home/knoppix/.* to /home/knoppix/. Files from your home directory are not copied to the ramdisk on bootup.

/home/knoppix is generated from /etc/skel. Take your modified files and overwrite what's in /etc/skel and make sure to have the ownership and permissions set the same way as the original files that are in /etc/skel.
