this is quite common with systems which have APIC enabled; just enter knoppix noapic at the boot:-prompt!
That's right, I had the idea to try out Linux for the first time today and found the Knoppix CD which sounded great - a way for me to dip my toe into the Linux sea without disturbing my Windows XP installation!
However, after downloading and burning (3.3) the CD won't boot beyond the penguin logo saying "hda: lost interrupt" over and over again... Is this a common error and is there an easy way to get past this?
