I'll try to post up the hash a little later after I re-iso my cd and md5 it.
Did you add firefox or firebird? Overclockix should have the latest i.e. Firefox (Mozilla Firebird namechanged and released 0.8 )
Thanks for the info Razor-X. I'll add those packages tonight, and the iso featuring them will be uploaded tomorrow. Perhaps that will fix the odd problem I'm having with the silver xcursor.
A beta without the gtk-qt packages is already uploading to my host and will be available from here- http://overclockix.octeams.com later on tonight (around 9 or 10 PM central standard time).
It's called Overclockix 3.4, and there will be a link for it and an annoucment on that site as soon as the upload completes.
Some highlights- customized desktop look (KDE, fluxbox, and icewm- still working on gnome, xfce, and enlightenment), installer script functionality repaired (partially anyway), added packages- firebird, mldonkey-gui, gftp, ncftp, thunderbird, updated gaim and XMMS to latest unstable versions, samba-mounting script, folding@home service, seti@home client, prime95 client, enlightenment (not tweaked yet), and more...
Default cheatcodes are lang=us screen=1024x768 splash

Hey Arkaine,
If it's not too much of a trouble and you still accept requests, then I was wondering if you could possibly implement the following. Add a new possible value for the "lang" cheatcode, "lang=et" - so by using it the keyboard and xkeyboard would be set to use the Estonian charset.
And some questions, it's unclear to me wether your distro is using KDE 3.2 or KDE 3.1.x? Also, is the distro going to use that font which is used in the screenshots that can be found from your site?
Well, anyway this modification of C't Knoppix is definately one sweet piece of work.
Good luck!
I'm pretty sure lang=et changes xkeyboard and keyboard as well, as lang=us changes the keyboard layout to us. One more thing Arkaine, the c't iso sucks with USA time. I keep having to reconfigure everytime the cd starts up. If you can fix that, then great!
And will Overclockix also have kernel 2.6 support or is that removed?
Unfortunately the Knoppix versions I have tried (versions from 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 series) don't do anything with lang=et; only the Knoppix mod - NordisKnoppix had that option, but it's quite out-dated.
Unfortunately, Estonian language support isnt in Knoppix. It'll all depend whether Arkaine wants to add Estonian support or not. And NordisKnoppix i based on Knoppix 3.2 so its not that old.
Basically, I don't want the support for the Estonian language, I'd just like that me and my friends would be able to boot up with using the Estonian keyboard (which is alike Swedish and German but has some special characters). When you boot up Knoppix and use the icon on the task bar to change the keyboard layout you can freely pick Estonian. I'd just like that it could be choosen before and from the command line using the "lang" command, if possible.
But if that is too much of a hassle then leave it I guess.
You can change your keyboard style and save your knoppix configuration either to a floppy, or if your cd is multisession, then to that.
Sorry to say, but I removed all language support in order to make room for other applications. I think only enlgish and german remain.
I used firebird .7 as I could not find firefox .8 as a .deb.
More work still lies ahead for this beta. One such thing will be a cron job that syncs time to an internet time server (rather than ntpd which would use like 4mb of ram).
I haven't even changed the default keyboard layout from german to english yet... not sure where that's done. (I don't mean in KDE, I mean at the inital boot screen). So you still have to use shift + 0 to get the =
Looks like I found yet another problem in my kmenu. Lots of stuiff still missing.
Best to wait to download until tomorrow morning.
Have a look at the /boot/isolinux/isolinux.cfg file. Remove or comment the line "KBDMAP german.kbd" and the default us keyboard layout will be used at startup. You'll likely also want to substitute all occurences of "lang=de" with "lang=us". BTW, kriko, you could stick the appropriate keyboard=xyz and xkeyboard=abc in that file as well, so you'll always default to the keyboard layout of your choice.Originally Posted by arkaine23
