Im doing a remaster of the knoppix dist. now i ran into the problem that x doesnt startup anymore. it all goes well, even an empty x comes up and stays up, but when i check the console it says "no suitable x-server found for your card.". the thing is that it works with the normal knoppix cd. i must have changed something wrong but i have absolutely no clue what it could be. has anybody got an idea what knoppix depends on when it starts x? i think when i did "apt-get upgrade" some config might have gotten overwritten... btw. xf86config looks fine...i think

any help would be very appreciatet. thx in advance


EDIT: startx works but /etc/init.d/xsession doesnt my problem is that i want to start X at startup. anyone got a bit more knowlegde about how x starts?
