Who can tell me which file to be edited? and how to modify it ?

Another question:
(login default with knoppix) when i click one harddisk partion on the KDE desktop, but the partion is not writable in default setting. i should right-click on the harddisk partion, and then click 'change read/write mode'. i want to the all partion to be writable with default settings. What should i do? i should modify " rebuildfstab"?? Where should i add the "rw" option?
