Boot problems, Noob here

When i boot of a cd its starts to boot and then it says ,"error only one prossesor." An then it starts trying to continue but it can't so it keep trying and trying. Can any one help.

Try using this cheat code. At the boot prompt enter:

knoppix nosmp

It will look like so:

boot: knoppix nosmp

It stopped the prossesor problem but it it still having a problem with "resource collision". And it is continuing to retry. This time would the cheat code be knoppix nosmp, MORE?
