Page for documenting common problems and potential fixes when remastering Knoppix CDs.

= GUI problems =
== Desktop background splash starts but then fails with 'X-Window session terminated with errors' message ==

Possible solutions: check that the permissions on /dev/null are set so everyone can write to it.

= KDE problems =

== KMix application keeps popping up ==

This can sometimes happen when various KDE packages get updated in a Knoppix remaster. Setting KDE_SERVICES_ENABLED to false in the /etc/default/kde-services-knoppix file may resolve the issue.

== Konsole opens but hangs with no prompt appearing ==

This seems to happen if the /dev/pty* permissions do not allow writing to any of the devices.
