It works. I tried with Knoppix 5.1.1 tonight and it's almost great.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
One small addition ... I had to change the permissions for /dev/pty on the installed (USB-Disk) Image ... but this was the smallest thing ...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Now I'm able to run a 'real' Linux on a notebook without a harddisk (just from the USB disk) with all options enabled.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
And I'm convinced that this can be further automated by putting the commands after the 'mount' into a script on the hdd partition ...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
