Knoppix installed from CD only recognizes and works with my Xircom 10/100 ethernet card. But when I installed it to the hard drive, it fails to work. I'm new to all this, so it has been a frustrating few days.
The bootup process reports this:
1. Network check eth0
2. Network stop eth0
3. sbin/pump -r -i eth0
4. Operation failed
5. /sbin/ifconfig eth0 down
6. modprobe -r xirc2ps_cs
7. exiting
...open_sock (0) failed, etc
Once booted,
cardctl ident
correctly reports the Xircom card in the slot, so it seems the pcmcia slot is working.
I'd sure appreciate any help from here!
