Memory Matters
I have a question about Knoppix, does it use the space on the disk as a hardrive? Or will it use my Windows PC's hardrive?

The short answer is "Yes, it CAN use disk space for swap memory." It depends on you to have either set aside some swap-formatted space in a separate partition, or, if you have a Windows swapfile on a partition mounted at boot time, it can use that. However, most Windows swapfiles will be on NTFS-type partitions, which many are leery of writing to. I have found those (Windows swapfiles on NTFS) to be less than helpful to overall system speed, though I find no trouble writing to NTFS from the file system integrity point of view.
Hope that helps!
