    Com Cast Question

    Hello i am running com cast internet at my house right now i am on my windows machine. i just just wondering how i can set this up i am supposed to set it up throught a proxy, but i dont know how i have looked all over and i cant find the place to do it at. I have to use my pcmcia Netgear card to connect to the internet with i was just wondering if you guys could tell me how to set up the cable internet sence tech support has no clue.

    Have you actually ran knoppix yet? There's a 90% chance it will "just work", also in my area, the comcast proxy is not required and you can work just fine without it.

    I tried and it said it cant connect to it.

    In that case, launch mozilla and edit the preferences to use the proxy.

    its still not working right. is there any way to set it to a certain IP address. if i could do that i am sure it would work but i dont know how to do that.

    You're not really saying WHAT is not working right. If you are just need to configure the network, you should read the many faq's written.

    As you can see at the top of the message "read the documentation" first.
