Problems with cable connection to internet

Hi! I have problems with my internet connection, which I could not figure out how to work. I have a network card, which normally is set to automatically get ip-adresses for internet. (Earlier Windows user..) Does any one have an idea of how to bring me back online again? /E

Go to Tux icon at the bottom--->Network--->Network card configuration <enter>
select DHCP.
