    Boot-up, many lines...

...scroll up and off the screen which look like they may contain interesting warnings and information.

    Where do they go?

    In a log somewhere?

No they don't look like that. More a 'tried to start this, couldn't start that' kind of thing.

If they happen very early in the bootup sequence, you may just have to be very quick to jot them down, because only so much of the output is stored in the buffer & dmesg does not always tell the story.

ctrl-s (or maybe ctrl-S) is supposed to slow down the display output so you can read it.

If anyone has ever wondered what scroll lock does, here it is. It is used on unix computers to stop the scrolling.
