Knoppix+tomcat+mysql

dear all,

i'm trying to build a knoppix that can run tomcat on it and mysql.....
but mysql store it's data on the hard drive so it won't be lost when i'm turnimg off my computer... . did any one know how to do that(the mysql thing). i'm looking everywhere and still didn't have any clue

could you create a persistant home directory on your said harddrive, then replace the mysql files with a link to the home directory.
I do this with ssh http ftp and mysql with a shell script and link /var/www to /home/knoppix/Desktop/www (after deleting host.allow and hosts.deny) then start the daemons.
