control alt F2. Then type passwd to change the system password. I do this just to makr sure I have permission to proceed. At the prompt type su, then enter the password. knoppix-installer <---- is what the command is to start the knoppix installer. Follow through to get familiar with it, configure it first, then you have the coice to proceed to start the installation or quit the installer. Make sure you install the bootloader to the mbr.
