Dell 8400 and Radeon X300

Knoppix 3.6 wil not boot on a Dell 8400 desktop with the Radeon X300. These PC's are pretty new hardware

The cheat code fb1280x1024 gets it up and running fine.

Is there a better cheat code for this type of hardware? I tried xmodule=radeon but got the error i8253 count too high! resetting several times before it also failed.

I can use the fb cheat code but wondered if anyone had had any better success with another cheat code.

Knoppix 3.7 detects the Radeon X300 series adapter just fine.
