If yu're trying to remove it from the MBR of your hard disk, the Windows Fdisk command should help; there's a "secret" option to fdisk, type fdisk /mbr at a prompt. Note this only works for the first hard drive, but that's likely the one you're concerned about. The MBR should be put back the way Windows expects to see it.

I think there was also an option right in SBM that backed up the old boot record and could restore it.
