Knoppix 3.6 seems to load kernel 2.4.7 by default. Why doesn't it use the newer 2.6 version? I don't understand why we are given a choice of kernels to use. Could someone help this noob out? Thanks!

Thank you for the advice. I will stick with it. Someday I hope to learn the reasoning behind offering two kernels and defaulting to the older one when both are stable versions.Use the 2.6 unless you are having some probnlems with it.
