    Which Kernel Should I Use?

Knoppix 3.6 seems to load kernel 2.4.7 by default. Why doesn't it use the newer 2.6 version? I don't understand why we are given a choice of kernels to use. Could someone help this noob out? Thanks!

Use the 2.6 unless you are having some probnlems with it. It's time knoppix got rid of the 2.4, must be some special reason Klaus is keeping it. There was some minor implementation bugs in 3.4 but they've been fixed.

Thank you for the advice. I will stick with it. Someday I hope to learn the reasoning behind offering two kernels and defaulting to the older one when both are stable versions.
