Using Knoppix 3.7 with Kernel 2.6.9, installed on harddrive, everything works fine except for the soundcard chip:
When being logged in as root, it works as exspected under KDE.
However, when logging under a normal user account, it partly fails. The KDE Control Center, under Sound & Multimedia - Sound System - General - Test Sound works as expected. However, the Sound & Multimedia - System Notifications - Actions Play a Sound for e.g. 'KDE_Glass_Break.ogg' produces no sound. Why does Knoppix 3.7 prevent plating ogg files for normal users? Is there any configuration where this can be corrected?

Thank you for your help.
I edited the file /home/(username)/.kde/share/config/knotifyrc as follows:
It is now working.Code:[Misc] LastConfiguredApp=The KDE Window Manager [StartProgress] Arts Init=true KNotify Init=true Use Arts=true![]()
