Hello!............Please help me!

I've just downloaded knoppix 3.7 I love it! Except for this blasted kernel header problem I am having in the process of installing the nvidia driver.

My problem is that the knoppix 2.4.27 kernel I have was compiled with kernel compiler 2.95.4

all available kernel headers at the official DEB repositories appear to be compiled with 3.3.5

as a result the kernel headers I need do not appear to be installing properly, and so I cannot get the nvidia drivers installed. This is really frustrating! Even the native compilers in the nvidia package are compiled from 3.3.5! (The result appears to be that the nvidia driver, after installation, cannot properly load GL because of absent symlinks).

Anyway, has anyone successfully installed their nvidia drivers to Knoppix 3.7 on the 2.4.27 kernel?
Does anyone know what I'm talking about? it all strikes me as a little strange.
