If you know the settings you want, you can edit the file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4. Or you can run the program xf86cfg or, if that doesn't work for you, xf86config.

i am sorry about changing my video settings in the control manager for monitor, graphic card and the virtual desktop.
now it does no longer show a real image. only stripes and so on. it looks like my card or monitor does not support the setting 1200x... may be...
but how can i make this reversible? i want to see somethingi am using knoppix hdd installed. so my question is: how to get the X-settings back to the default settings or is there something like x-config?
