You must find exact explanation in documentation, but, practically, if you have 2 or 3 primary partition, rest of the hdd sudenly becom unusable. So, you make first partition primary, second logical and you can than have more partition, until the end of hdd. This way I installed 4 diferent Linux on one hdd.
