I have LAN(4 PC-s running WinXP). Machines are interconnected(by wires) using Siemens Gigaset SE515 dsl Wlan router. All machines connect to Internet through this Siemens router over LAN. Since this router doesn't have any traffic management installed it is very anoying when more than 1 machine at time uses Internet. Net access is ADSL 387/64. Softwares like Netlimiter don't help much. For example : 1 PC is downloading something from Net and have set Netlimiter for half of all BW(DL-20Kb/s,UP-4KB/s). PC 2 wants to play game online and gets ping 999, althrough it has second half of BW free, and games uses only like Dl-6Kb/s,UP-2KB/s. Some people told me that it would help to set up one machine that would be proxy server, and all other PCs would connecting to Net through that machine. So I'm asking is there some proxy util whith which I could management Net traffic, in Knopix. Konpix would be ideal because i coul set up a machine without HDD, to be router and run proxy 24/7.
