Can I configure power options for a laptop running KNOPPIX?

How can I set up KNOPPIX to run on my laptop and set op power options like Standby and Hibernate?

yes... goto K menu --> settings --> COntroll center...

there you can find power options.... for laptops and the like..

Thanks for the help. I tried the "settings/control center/power options" for power control. All of the options are grayed out and it indicates I need to enable the acpi functions. But in order to start this helper application it says I need root priveledges but then it asks for a password. I'm lost again...
