hp dv5000 series laptop using amd turion

Has anyone used Knoppix 4.0 (got in the dvd from knoppix for dummies book) with amd 64 bit athlon processor?
Any pointers that need to be seen from this viewpoint.
I will try if someone can confirm this its worth to try it.

AMD64 processors work fine with any x86 system, you just won't have any 64 bit support, as it will be running in 32 bit emulation mode. (the added 64 bit support isn't all that fancy anyway.) I'd pop the cd in, it can't hurt anything to try. HP's usually pretty good about using hardware that's universally compatible.
