Knoppix is not as easy as I had hoped.
I cannot get my external hard drives to go faster than about 500 kB/sec transfer rate. This is much slower than the transfer between the same devices using Windows. I have tried 'modprobe ehci-hcd'. any help would be appreciated

I am getting really frustrated with this whole thing.

also, WHY does knoppix let you right click on a drive, go to properties and let you THINK that you can change read/write permissions when you have to actually go to Actions....???????????
